Our Experience With Pedipaws plus the 6th Daily Deal of Christmas

Our youngest is a total sucker for infomercials, and actually all commercials. We tell him we know that if he were independently wealthy and could spend money on whatever he wanted, he would constantly be ordering off the tv. I frequently hear "Mom, seriously, come see this! It is such a good deal!" One thing he has wanted for Christmas was the ability to order something off an infomercial. He said he didn't want us to buy the item because he wanted to experience actually calling the number and hearing what they say. Well Christmas came a little early for him last week when we let him order an item he has been eyeing a long time- Pedipaws. This item is supposed to easily file your pet's nails and being the pet lover he is, he was just dying to try this out on our 2 dogs.

Danny ordering

We agreed to purchase this because being in the budget mode, we are doing all the dog cleaning ourselves lately but our yorkie has gotten especially long nails since she hasn't seen a pro in few months. So we thought it would be a good investment. It did not work out well for us. I think it is partly because our 4 pound dog's paws and nails are so tiny that this contraption seems very large in comparison. I don't want to completely bag on the product because perhaps for bigger dogs it is better, but we felt like we were shoving her nail into the frying pan as she sat there shaking and when the file hit her nail it felt and sounded like a grinder. Plus I can't tell what would be too far....I think we will wash them ourselves and take them in for an occassional nail trim. Our other dog's nails aren't long enough to put her through it- she is 13 and mostly blind and deaf so we spared her the guinea pig experience. About ordering it, Danny said he was suprised you never actually talk to a real person because it is all automated, and after you place your order it continues to offer you deal after deal of another product.

Today's 6th Daily Deal of Christmas is a good one as this product is hard to keep in stock- Today only, 30% off Table Topics. These fun conversation starter cards make a great gift and I continue to get repeat buyers on these. Last year I gave a box to neighbors at our annual holiday progressive dinner. There are several different versions- Teen, Family, Girls Night Out and the Traditional Adult Version.

About 1 hour after reading your Charming Cards post about Danny, I called a number to purchase a product that was advertised on television. I had the EXACT same experience, and it made me think of Danny.

I never spoke to a human being, and they kept me on the line for the longest time trying to get me to upgrade, purchase other products, subscribe to this, subscribe to that, are you sure, let us repeat the offer again since maybe you didn't understand, and on, and on, and on........

Never again.

I will add that Pedi-Paws was very good about returning this. After offering me $5 to try it again (which I declined) they gave me an RMA number and it is now on it's way back for a full refund.
