Bad experiences purchasing the "Snuggie" blanket
I wrote in a December blog my experience purchasing an item off an infomercial- well I have another related story to warn you to beware! It came up last night at a family gift exchange that my Dad and sister had very bad experiences attempting to purchase the "Snuggie" blanket. The Snuggie is featured in an infomercial as a very funky blanket to keep you cozy and warm with arm holes so your hands are free to move around. The commercial was played over and over in December and is hard to miss. Very strange, but apparently popular. Both my Dad and sister thought this would be a good item for our $25 adult gift (stealing) exchange. After an extremely long phone call earlier in December trying to purchase this item, the transaction seemed to go through, but the total dollar amount is never mentioned during the automated call. They keep you on the phone a long time asking questions about other offers and make it unclear if your order is finished unless you go through and reject all the offers. As it turns out- days later my Dad got an email indicating the Snuggie would be delivered in 6 weeks and the total was $110! This is a $19.95 item, but they offer you another one for "free"... but free is not really free and you are charged a separate handling fee on the "free" one. Then while asking which colors you want, my Dad thinks by selecting a separate color for the 2nd blanket, he was actually deemed as making another order for another set. On top of this he was charged over $30 for shipping (in addition to the $7.95 per item processing fee). He was unsuccessful in reaching a real person when attempting to cancel the order so he sent a letter indicating his cancellation and intention to dispute any charge with his credit card company. My sister is still at the cancellation stage so she is not sure of the depth of her problem yet. I looked this up online and found many people with similar complaints and the company seems to operate completely unethically and unprofessionally with no customer service. My comfy Target blanket will do just fine!

My mom went through the exact same ordeal with them in December. She said they were a nightmare!
No way! My daughter was begging me to buy her a Snuggied for Christmas. I am glad that I never got around to it. That is horrible!
I am going through sim, ilar problem. My snuggie blanket with 1 free $19.95 plus 15.90 shipping: Order placed 22 November has not yet arrived. Instead it has traveled from Reno, NV to Sacramento, CA to Los Angeles, CA to New Berlin, WI to Indianapolis, IN to Allen Park, MI to Indianapolis to Belleville, MI to Allen Park, MI. Now I know why... FEDEX Smartpost is the most economical way for them to ship. This means at each point, my order waited for truck to have full load. No one can explain why the package went the same place twice on two counts. Called customer service and the supervisor would not talk to me. Paying $15.90 for a 3.5 pound package and waiting is not for me. I will no longer purchase items from As Seen on TV. Smartpost means FEDEX ships but will arrive via USPS United States Postal System. I have browsed hundreds of problems that have been reported regarding Allstar.com. Package is due to arrive between now 07 Jan 09 to 16 Jan and it is only 3 hours away.
In my 60 years I never had a worse experience than snuggie. My call to their automated order line on Dec.10 resulted in them taking 87.40 from my debit card,I still haven't received the blanket I decided not to order. What a nightmare!Stay away from this boggus mess!
Upon reviewing the myriad, multiple complaints (perhaps numbering in the thousands by now) registered by other Internet purchasers of Snuggie blankets, I realize my own gripe is merely redundant (see for yourself by Googling "customer complaints Snuggie"). Basically what happened to me is what happened (pretty much word-for-word) to the first Complaints Board complainant whose story I read, which I copied and am pasting here now: "I went to the website and purchased a snuggie. It was supposed to be buy one get one free. Then they ask if you would like to upgrade to a more plush snuggie. When you say yes you end up buying 2 getting 2 free and instead of it costing you approx. $40.00 it ends up costing you almost $95.00. I called to have them correct this only to have them tell me that it was too soon for the order to be in the system that I would have to call back in 24 to 72 hours. That the order does not hit the system that soon. I asked well how can you email me an order # that is not in the system? I was told well that's not the true order # that we use. What a bunch of crap! I'm canceling my credit card. What a bunch of scam artists." I totally agree. What I did after my own third bowel-roiling phone call to Snuggie customer service (there's an oxymorom) was to promptly call American Express to dispute the charge. In their usual competent fashion, AE said they'd take care of it. Someone, though, ought to let ABC's Good Morning America, which touted the blanket in a Saturday morning segment that they're an unwitting accomplice to a shady cyberspace operator. Well, my bowels have quieted somewhat. The best thing I've learned this morning is to always Google a product BEFORE purchasing it on the Internet in order to benefit from other people's undfortunate experiences. Snuggie blankets are not a warm and cozy product -- well, the product itself might (or might not) be, but certainly not the unpleasant experience of purchasing one. Internet buyer beware!
those Snuggie infomercials draw me in like a magnet, though i haven't gotten to the point of actually buying one yet
The Snuggie website is also a scam. You don't know the total amount of your purchase is until after you enter in your credit card number but the webpage does not allow you to edit or cancel at that point like most other legit websites. I tried to go back on the page and ultimately closed out of the site but order was automatically placed! Now I'm going thru the same process disputing the fraudulent and unauthorized purchase with my credit card co. Report their website and business to the BBB and FTC!!
The Snuggie website is also a SCAM. It did not allow me to edit or back the page before I placed the order. Once I entered my credit card #, I was locked in and couldn't change the order. I closed out the page but order was automatically sent in anyway. When I spoke to a rep. that was very rude, by the way, he kept implying that because I entered in the CC#, I "intended" to place the oder. This is part of their customer service gimmick to convince you to accept the order (which I never placed). I did not fall for that. What they did was fraudulently and without authorization used my credit card # to place an order without my approval. AX is helping me with this dispute and I and everyone should report them to the BBB and FTC!!
I had a severe allergic reaction to the deep dye of the snuggie. Swollen hands and eyes. Rash all along forearms, legs, and hips. Anyone else going through the same thing???
The snuggie website is a total scam. I went to buy one and was offered another one for free. I clicked to order thinking that I would have the option to review the order. Not so! The order went through before I realized I was being charged $63.60 for shipping and handling. The next day, I called the customer service number from the website and selected option 5 over the phone to cancel the order. The cancellation was processed so I relaxed. Lo and behold the shipment was sent to me and my C.C. was charged! After a week's worth of going around and around with them, I have finally been reimbursed my full amount plus the cost to ship the snuggies back to Conneticut. WHAT A SCAM!
I later found the snuggies at my local Target for $14.99. I bought 2 there for each of my kids.
I just had the EXACT same experience as everyone else. I even asked to talk to a manager and she yelled at me and then hung up on me. I could't believe that my oder had acutally been processed without me even being able to review the charges-- and the shipping was just as much as the product! I just cancelled my credit card so it doesn't go through. Oh well, jokes on them!
I think i'm having an allergic reaction to my deep red/burgundy Snuggie. I've had it for three days and now have a pretty terrible rash all over my forearms, shoulder, and neck--anywhere the Snuggie touched.
Ug, I'm throwing the thing away!
DO NOT Buy this item! My 9 year old son received one for Christmas and after wearing it had a severe allergic reaction needing epi injections, steroids, and benadryl in the ER. He normally does not have allergies. The Dr. believes it is the chemicals they treat and wash the fabric in and/or the dyes used to color the fabric. Both my 3 year and myself also received snuggies and needless to say they are all being returned. Besides, after seeing the snuggies, you could get the same effect turning a robe backwards! lol
As a Newbie, I am always searching online for articles that can help me. Thank you

My mom, dad and I received a snuggie from my brother for Christmas. My parents hate it because they can't stand the chemical smell. My mom has washed theirs several times and still can't stand to use it. They got blue and pink and I got a tan one. Meanwhile, I think I'm allergic to mine. I have developed a rash on my legs, arms, neck and waist AND my lower legs are swollen!!! I'm taking Benadryl now but if I don't get better soon, I'm headed to the doctor for more powerful drugs. My snuggie is going in the TRASH!
Was allergic to mine, got hives for a week, had to take steroids and a strong antihistamine to kick it.
